eBay just announced their vision search that helps a buyer search out an item using photographs, watch the video below to see how it works.

In addition eBay is also rolling out Find it on eBay, which allows you to tap items on any website on a blog or on Pinterest, for example and find similar items to buy by sharing the URL with eBay. The eBay platform will also let you zoom in on specific items within a photo for example, a pair of shoes and search for those.

Needless to say they will probably not be very accurate and will probably bring up a load of items that are very similar but at least you will be able get somewhere near what you are looking for, at the end of the day eBay needs to harness artificial intelligence which it already does with it's search similar function, so riding the wave of AI is exciting and I can't wait to see what is coming next.
